Pina Amendoeira at Ad Urbem's annual meeting

The 2023 AD URBEM annual meeting on “Real Estate: Rights and Duties” took place on December 6th at the Templo da Poesia Auditorium, in Parque dos Poetas, Oeiras.

Pina Amendoeira has participated in the meeting, having presented a communication entitled: “THE RIGHT TO RENOUNCE PROPERTY - Reflections and Practical Questions” carried out by Salomé Silvestre and Maria Isabel de Pina.

The communication is the result of a reflection on the right of property owners to exempt themselves from the legal impositions that increasingly burden them, by giving up their right of ownership and deals with the procedure necessary to exercise the said right and the ensuing need to register the renunciation of ownership with the Land Registry Office and the Tax Office.

Minutes of the 2022 AD URBEM annual meeting

The minutes of the 2022 AD URBEM annual meeting dedicated to the theme “Construction law – issues and challenges” have already been published by Almedina, which include the article authored by Pina Amendoeira “COMMON PARTS OF ALLOTMENTS – PRACTICAL ISSUES”.

According to the article, the application of the horizontal property regime to common parts of developments should include other aspects of the legal regulation of common areas in addition to the rules of the Civil Code - especially rules on property taxation and land registration - in order to enable a complete and adequate legal treatment of the common areas of the developments.

Sabrina Amendoeira in Boston to complete the NITA ADVOCATE certification

On the next 25th June Sabrina leaves for the US, where she will attend the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA) course "Deposition Skills" in the city of Boston

The course is part of the trilogy NITA ADVOCATE whose initial two parts Sabrina has attended in previous years

With the conclusion of this third part, Sabrina will complete the cycle that awards the title of NITA ADVOCATE

The National Institute for Trial Advocacy is the largest American institution specializing in continuous legal education for trial lawyers

Sabrina has been a trial lawyer since she began her professional career, and her technical training in this area has greatly benefited from the attendance of several specialized courses in the United States, as well as her membership of the American Bar Association and the American Association for Justice, which are the two biggest American associations of trial lawyers
